"It has been a pleasure for me to help the work of John and Margaret by simply letting them tell the story to our listeners.

Those who know them will recognise the hallmarks of enthusiasm, commitment and energy which spur them on in this tremendous task.
Last time we had a group of youngsters singing live on the radio, it brought tears to your eyes,
Keep up the good work."

Books for the children of Chernobyl

When members of the Chernobyl Children’s Life Line contacted Middlesbrough Libraries and Information to see about the possibility of borrowing children’s books in Russian, we were delighted to be able to help.

As part of our commitment to Social Inclusion, Middlesbrough Libraries already hire collections of books in foreign languages from supplier Bright Books. It was an easy step to add another language.

The books will be kept at Marton Library for the duration of the two annual visits, (February – July) and can be borrowed like any other book. Families living outside Middlesbrough will be very welcome to come and join to make the best use of this service.
